Create your own mug in this beginner-friendly workshop. Participants will learn to throw their ideal mug, ranging from casual espresso cups to voluminous vessels for dedicated coffee drinkers.
With the help of your instructor, Owen Comeau, you’ll be guided through the process of creating mug bodies, as well as covering basic techniques for refining forms and making handles. You will then finish off with picking a glaze from our selection.
No previous experience is required!
This workshop is 3 hours long, including clean-up time. Participants should expect approximately 2½ hours of pottery work, with the final 20–30 minutes reserved for cleaning and closing procedures.
Since clay needs time to dry, your instructor will clean up your forms, making sure to retain their natural personality and attaching the handles made in the workshop. With your chosen glaze, your mugs will be professionally coated and fired by the studio. Pieces will be ready for pickup in the following weeks. When they are ready, we’ll let you know!
Of the dates listed, you may choose between the morning slot or the afternoon slot. Only one of these slots will be valid (you cannot do both slots on the same day). Time slots are limited to four participants maximum, due to our limited number of wheels.
