ExpoFest 2026
CALLING ALL ARTISTS!
Acanthus Gallery invites all artists to submit an original piece of art for an exhibition that will be held during the Grand Falls Municipality Regional Potato Festival in June 2026. All mediums of art are welcome.
Theme – “Full of Light”
This theme invites artists to reflect on what "light" means to them. Whether it is the visual aspect of brightness itself, the exploration of how light shapes perception and mood, or something more subjective like a mental state, an emotion, or an experience, this is up to the artist's interpretation. We are looking for pieces that are inviting, vibrant, and alive.
The art piece must be original, authentic, and unique in its genre, it will be judged with the following criteria:
THEME INTERPRETATION – To what degree does the piece represent the theme.
CREATIVITY AND ORIGINALITY
QUALITY OF THE ARTISTIC COMPOSITION
CONTROL OF MEDIUM – The qualities of materials, colors, and lighting.
WHAT FEELING DOES THE PIECE CONVEY– THE WOW Factor! The effect the piece has on the audience.
All art media and forms are admissible, for example painting, photography, sculpture, quilts, textile and fiber art, etc. as long as they represent the theme.
Registration forms can be obtained by emailing acanthusgallery@gmail.com or in person at the Acanthus Gallery, 136A Church Street, Grand Falls, NB.
Registration must be submitted by June 20, 2026.
All pieces must be submitted to the Acanthus Gallery prior to this date also.
1st Prize – One year space rental at the gallery (2 linear feet)
2nd Prize –100 $ Gift certificate from the Gallery
3rd Prize - 50 $ Gift certificate from the Gallery
Note: While we do not have a formal selection committee for ExpoFest participation, the organizers reserve the right to decline submissions that are offensive, inappropriate, or do not meet a minimum standard of craftsmanship. Our goal is to maintain a welcoming and high-quality exhibition for all attendees.
