ADMINISTRATION AND ARTISTIC PROGRAMMING POSITION
JOB DETAILS
The student will be responsible for organizing, leading, and coordinating various cultural and artistic events while ensuring their administrative management. Their role will involve structuring each event, planning key stages, overseeing its smooth execution, and maximizing its visibility to the public. Additionally, they will contribute to promoting artistic initiatives, developing new opportunities to enhance the organization’s cultural offerings, and assisting in grant writing to support the sustainability and growth of projects. The student will also be expected to uphold the values of the gallery and promote its commitment to art and the community.

· Centre d’Action Communautaire « Old Credit Union » (Drummond, NB)
· Galerie Acanthus (Grand Falls, NB)

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT:
Bilingual (spoken and written)
SALARY
· Minimum wage of 15.65 $/hour
· Duration: 12 weeks
· Schedule: 35 hours/week
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE SEED POSITION, THE CANDIDATE (STUDENT) MUST:
-be a resident of New Brunswick (must have lived in New Brunswick for at least 6 months) or a First Nation community in New Brunswick;
-be eligible to work in Canada (must have a valid SIN number);
-NOT be an immediate family member (spouse, children, parent, brother or sister) of the employer;
-be a high school student entering grade 10, 11 or 12 in September 2025; OR
-be a full-time grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2024-2025 AND be attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2025.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
-Excellent leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal.
-Ability to initiate projects and work proactively within a team.
-Strong reading comprehension skills to interpret various documents, instructions, and guidelines accurately.
-Proficiency in writing, including grant applications, reports, emails, and other professional documents in a clear and structured manner.
-Ability to negotiate, resolve conflicts, and exercise good judgment in decision-making.
-Capacity to collaborate with partners and maintain positive relationships to achieve common goals.
-Adaptability, commitment to the gallery’s mission, and a strong sense of responsibility.
-Proficiency in common digital tools and software to ensure the efficient execution of administrative tasks.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and logistics
Coordination of artists and facilitators
Managing registrations and access
Promotion and communication
Event management and facilitation
Evaluation and reporting
HIRING CRITERIA:
The candidate must have a valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle. This requirement is essential to ensure the ability to travel independently between work locations and fulfill job-related travel needs.
